A Flood of Business Opportunities

Schubert Plumbing & Heating are one of Mission’s big success stories. Dan Sr. started the family company back in 1978.  Dan Jr. joined in more recent years and now the father/son duo employ over 60 staff, 60% of which are Mission residents.

The boom began in 2010 with the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, drawing in business throughout the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver. With efficient service and high standards in customer care their reputation has grown and with it their business, seeing a 300% increase in the past 5 years.

Operating three main service divisions in residential, commercial and new construction, there is little the team cannot tackle, from everyday plumbing and heating requirements, to design and assist with new developments. Since working on the Mission Complex Residential Care Facility, a project Fraser Health see as a model for Fraser Valley communities, they have found a niche in seniors care facilities, with a large percentage of construction work based on repeat business and word of mouth recommendations.

And you never know what the next call will lead to. Last year a large cosmetics company requested one-off drain cleaning, which has since lead to a permanent contract. Not only have they dealt with the everyday plumbing and heating issues but through learning about the processes of soap making they were able to develop a new, more effective system for heating and cooling kettles of soap, which has seen the company save time, money and an increase in production levels – a real win-win.
