Work – Life Balance

It is never easy being a working Mom, but being your own boss has enabled Carley Rempel, owner of new retail business Mossy Creek & Co. to get the best of both worlds. Starting up the business with her Mom, Mary Blom, the pair are all about family and set to succeed as they find the work-life balance most crave.

It’s all about happy families

Having called Mission home for over 16 years, Mission was the obvious place to open their store and now with beautiful retail space in Mission’s Downtown core, they are ready to welcome you to explore the range of locally crafted product and clothing on offer.

Mossy Creek are focusing on local goods, with inventory including clothing, jewelry, cards, baby products, soaps, candles and shaving kits, with each product harbouring its own unique story, which the staff will happily share with you.  This offers shoppers the opportunity to purchase something distinctive and learn directly about the people behind the merchandise.

Keen to support other working families, the majority of their stock is purchased from other BC based Moms who are also using their entrepreneurial spirit to support their families. Often referred to as “Mompreneurs”, a new trend is emerging where many now include the children in their business processes and decision making, and use it as a learning tool to teach their kids a wealth of skills including sales, creativity and financial management.

Mossy Creek & Co. are always looking for new and authentic home-grown merchandise, which they will happily run on consignment for those looking to move into the retail space. “We want Mission to grow within Mission by supporting those locally who have something to offer.” advised Rempel. “Our doors are always open to those who have something that will resonate with young moms and women in general.”

Join them on Saturday, March 4 for the Grand Opening where drinks and appetizers will be served at 33186 First Ave (across from the Post Office) Tel: 604-287-5405.
