It’s All Smiles

For Fischer Denture Clinic, business is booming! Markus Fischer, registered denturist, attributes the clinic’s success to their specialized lower suction dentures and the fact that as we live longer, we want to maintain that fabulous smile later in life.

Training in Japan under Dr. Jiro Abe, Markus Fischer is one of only 28 denturists worldwide who is certified to teach this procedure and offers the first clinic in the Lower Mainland to perform this technique.

So, what does this ground breaking work do?

Specialized impressions record the movements of the lips, cheeks and tongue and thus a very stable lower denture with suction effect is made. This is such an incredible improvement when compared to a traditional lower denture that floats in the mouth. This means no adhesive is required and the grip is so strong that food does not get stuck underneath the plates.

Markus likens getting dentures to learning to use a prosthetic limb, “Having dentures is really a disability as you lose up to 90% of your chewing ability. You have to retrain your mouth to accept and adapt to these dental prostheses. Lower suction dentures are truly revolutionary and our patients are so pleased with them as they feel so natural”. Through regular check-ups and their dedicated customer care, patients quickly gain comfort with their new dentures.

Fischer Denture Clinic is one of only three lower suction denture training centers in North America and is hosting dentists and denturists from throughout the world, putting Mission on the map when it comes to creating a smile. With courses scheduled each month, the economic benefit to local hotels, restaurants and businesses is growing.

How Markus finds the time to instruct, manage a successful business, raise seven children and still give back to the community through the Mission Rotary Club is the big question. Living and working in Mission has helped, with plenty of support from the staff, neighbours and clients since the doors first opened in 2006.   “Mission is a great place to raise a family;” states Markus, “and our customers are great for spreading the word and offering complimentary testimonials.”

Find them at #102-7343 Hurd Street, Mission, and keep the smile alive.
